Don't Panic
Let's be clear. I am not a journalist. I don't even pretend to be.
But my work requires me to be a communicator. I have to be able to understand the needs of my clients and the needs of their clients. I have to be able to stay ahead of the curve so that I don't get run over by it.
While my day job pays the bills it's the stuff I do after that which brings me joy. I spend hours on end digging through volumes of data on the latest technology trends and evaluating those into valuable tools that my clients can use. If I'm lucky, some of that carries over to my day job. In most cases, my day job bans those things out of fear, uncertainty and doubt rather than even attempting to understand them.
I've met some really interesting people recently. I've found out about things that combine my love of technology and my needs for communication. I've been educated over and over and over.
I'm still trying to find the right balance. Any suggestions on how I can present new ideas to old problems without getting dismissed or worse?
I think I'm adding this to my calendar as something I need to go to next time around.
I may even have to try and find a way to attend this too.

But lookie, lookie! I managed to log in and post without blowing up the interwebs!
Not only that, you did it without me noticing. Now that takes effort.
