Behind the curve
I like to think that I work in a progressive industry. I like to think that we try to reach out to our clients in ways that will reach them.
It turns out that I'm right. I have a normal set of websites that I scan on a regular basis which belong to our counterparts throughout the industry. Each of them have a link to Twitter. Each of them use Twitter on a regular basis. Some of them use it frequently enough that I might consider it a little overboard for my taste but I'm not in their target audience.
Sadly, the target audience that I am in is being ignored. Our opinion doesn't count. We don't matter. And I can't speak up because it would create a political nightmare.
So if anyone is listening and cares what I as part of the target has to say then listen carefully. Your website has nothing to offer me. Your huge success is at most a whimper compared to the things being done elsewhere. I should be able to find more and have access to more than I do. You have failed to reach me and continue to do so. I am longer interested in what you have to say because you have chosen to alienate me and exclude me in favor of proprietary tools. Your technology initiatives are a failure. I'm more impressed by the technology being used by my Alma Mater 600 miles away.
