The Floor
Going, Going, Gone...
The windows box just imploded the network drivers again. I tried restoring it the same way that I did before, but it was a no go. Given my options, I'm thinking I'll just migrate the little bit of my work that is left on the windows box and say goodbye. I don't have the time to deal with the long involved process of cleaning up after the crappy software that is microsft windows.

Slip Sliding Away...
The technology battlefield is littered with casualties. The walking wounded have gone mad and are turning on the very people that they need to survive.
Rain.
Rain. That's all I've seen for 3 days. Rain.
If I miss anything about Oklahoma, it's the rain. I've enjoyed the last 3 days and all of the thunder and lightning that came with it. Of course, they are still learning about flood control around here and in some cases have ignored it completely. Major roads are closed and under water, people are still trying to drive through high water, and we still have the mulch fire.
Maybe I'll go to the zoo today.
Micro$hafted, again.
I am beginning to feel an increasing hatred towards my only windows machine. Tonight, during the latest round of spring storms, this particular machine chose to shutdown. There was no obvious power surge or outage and the other machines (2 of them) running on the same power source / outlet remained active.
No big deal. It's happened before. Just power it back up and all will be good...NOT!

Madison Riley
This was previously a scan of Madison's ultrasound. The image itself seems to have vanished. I'll find it eventually or rescan the original.
Do unto others...
Shortly after Thanksgiving I got a call from an old friend. She was in a bit of financial trouble and wasn't quite sure what she was going to do. She needed a place to stay but wasn't prepared to just abandon her current situation as she wants to finish school (technical, get a+, mcp, and a couple other certifications). It took her a couple of days, but she managed to find herself a place to stay.
Fast forward to last Friday.

The new digs...
2006.08.29 The lease got signed.
2006.08.30 I moved in at 8 A.M.
2006.08.31 I slept in till 7 A.M.
We are now in a 1600 sq ft, 3 bed, 2.5 bath, 2 car, 2 story rental. The neighbors are friendly (all armed forces of some type), the schools are great, and if it wasn't for the traffic, my drive would only be about 20 minutes each way.
I'm still working my tail off but I am spending alot more time off the road now and saving alot on gas (besides it dropping to $2.37 / gallon at some places).
Movin' On!
We were finally able to move at the end of August. Things are in chaos at the moment, but they are slowly returning to normal. The kids are in school, the job is still going strong, and aside from the fact that I am totally broke, life is grand.
Long Time, No Post
What can I say? I've been earning my money.
In the last month, we've rolled out a new design, and are implementing new features and design changes left and right. I am still driving back and forth from here to there (90 miles one-way, 180 miles round-trip) at least 5 days a week and usually 6 spending $55.00 every 2 days on gas. School starts in one week and the little ones are restless as ever.
